PUERTO RICO
SAN JUAN
After flying 4 hours from Boston, we are now touring over Puerto Rico to land at San Juan. This is naturally a very good opportunity to watch the island from the plane’s window...
Christopher Columbus discovered this island in 1493 when he sailed away for his second journey to the southern hemisphere. Many Indians lost their lives here during the war in mid 1500s. Puerto Rico has survived fighting many difficulties like hurricanes and epidemic diseases for centuries. It has been under the attack of Caribs Indians living on the nearby islands. The Spanish community slowly improved, constructed cities and began agriculture.
The sky is clear but there is a strong wind. Hopping and jumping we land at the airport. Passengers applaud the captains in excitement.
The Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort
The hotel car meets us. It is 28 degrees. Ohh!! It is a great pleasure to feel the summer in the middle of winter.
The coast where the ginger fine sands meet with the waves, the mountains covered with palm trees and rain forests...
The view is splendid. Rain clouds have passed over recently and the clouds are in clusters now.. After living for a while we get to know that it rains there everyday.
